Elevate Your Outdoor Space
Landscape Design and Construction
A Higher Standard for Landscape Design and Construction
Outdoor Perspective designs and builds complete landscapes, from grading and drainage to plantings, walls, walkways, lighting and irrigation, as a single scope handled by a single team. Design and installation sit under the same roof, so what gets drawn is what gets built, and the crew installing it can talk to the person who designed it.
Projects range from a front entry rebuild on a Windham or Methuen home to full site work on a commercial campus. Every one starts with the same question: how water moves across the property, and what the site will hold up to in February.

Designing for a Zone 5b to 6a Site
Greater Boston sits in USDA zone 6a and southern New Hampshire in 5b, which is a real constraint on a plant list: material that overwinters reliably in Providence will not necessarily come back in Windham. We specify to the colder end of your site’s range, and we plan for winter salt spray on anything within throwing distance of a plowed road or walk.
Frost depth drives the construction side. Footings and wall bases have to be set below the frost line, generally four feet in this region, and hardscape needs a properly compacted base or it heaves out of level within two winters. Drainage gets designed first, not added later: most of the failed walls and settled patios we are called in to repair failed because water had nowhere to go.
Design and Construction Questions
How long does a design take?
Two to four weeks from site meeting to presented plan for most residential projects, longer for phased commercial work.
Can the project be phased over multiple years?
Yes, and it is common. We sequence so the site work and drainage happen first and later phases don’t require tearing up finished areas.
Do you install what you design?
Always. Design and build are the same team. See masonry and hardscape and outdoor living for the construction side.
